MY TAKE ON THERAPY
I feel that sometimes life hits us with situations, emotions, and people we just can't handle all on our own. Having someone to lend a listening ear and offer some unbiased support and compassion can make all the difference in times like these.
I find it most helpful to explore emotions and look at what they are telling us, talk about shame (it’s ok if you cringe in response to that word), work to increase self-compassion and set goals that align with the work and personal betterment you are hoping to do.
I appreciate that opening up to someone new is a difficult thing to do and how important it is to build a comfortable rapport and relationship with your therapist. My promise to you is that I will do my very best to facilitate this.
With You Every Step of the Way
EATING DISORDER THERAPY
I am very passionate about eating disorder recovery and have over 10 years of experience working in the field.
I would work with you on recovery oriented goals such as mechanical eating, tolerating distress, coping with emotions, challenging eating disorder thoughts and improving self-worth, self-acceptance and body image.
Finding your path
I take an individualized, goal oriented approach to therapy. I am will aim to set collaborative goals with you and work hard to set small and manageable steps towards meeting those goals.
I often like to work on reducing shame, increasing emotion coping, self-worth and self-compassion if this aligns with your goals for therapy.
PREGNANCY LOSS & PREGNANCY AFTER LOSS THERAPY
When words aren't enough
The loss of an unborn baby is one of the most painful things one can experience. You not only lose a child, but lose the world you were creating for this baby and your sense of self with it.
Healing from a pregnancy loss is a difficult road. The pain will never entirely go away, but with time and support the pain doesn't have to consume you.
It would be my honour to be part of your grieving and healing journey.
